Announcing J.R. Gregory Has Won Bethesda’s 2018 Phil Borsom Customer Service Award
Bethesda Senior Living Communities (BSLC) is pleased to announce it has presented its 2018 Phil Borsom Customer Service Award to J.R. Gregory, director of transportation at Bethesda Gardens in Fort Worth, Texas. This award recognizes one employee annually for demonstrating our organization’s SERVANT values.
“We received more nominations from our community team members than in all the previous years combined,” said Larry Smith, President of BSLC. “I wish I could convey the experience our selection team had of reading about the wonderful people that were nominated and their many acts of kindness and selflessness. In the end, J.R.’s nomination rose to the top for the way he embodied our value of service.”
“J.R. is always looking to help out others in everything he does,” said Kristee Thomas, executive director of Bethesda Gardens Fort Worth. “As our director of transportation, he makes sure our residents get to their appointments and enjoy outings into our community. He always goes the extra mile, calling the day before as a reminder to make sure the appointment is still on the books.”
Thomas continued, “What makes J.R. truly special is the way he spends one-on-one time with each of our residents. He has a strong connection with every single person in our community, and I can’t speak highly enough about him and his character. We’re lucky to have him on our team.”
Smith noted that because there were so many moving stories in this year’s Phil Borsom award nominations, he is recognizing three other team members as runners up for their dedication to serving our residents:
- 2nd Place Runner Up: Justin Cockrum, AL and IL Activity Assistant, The Gardens in Springfield.
- 3rd Place Runners Up (tie): Linda Sines, Activity Director at Grand Villa, and Kary Rhea, Housekeeper at Bethesda Gardens in Arlington.
“This was such a difficult decision this year,” Smith said. “Congratulations, J.R., and to the runners up on this prestigious award! I’m so proud and thankful for all you do for our residents, their families and our communities. All of our nominees truly represent the best of our core values.”
