This month, our local Bethesda communities are gearing up for a series of very special “Caring is a Work of Heart” culinary events, in which our culinary services teams will be preparing a heart-healthy meal and demonstrating some of the many ways our teams are committed to building delicious, heart-healthy meals that feed the mind and body and inspire joy in our residents.

Recipe: Heart-Healthy Green Smoothie
Serves: 1

Ingredients:
1 apple
1 cup kale
1 avocado
1 cup almond milk
1 handful of ice

Instructions:

  • Core the apple and avocado.
  • Blend all ingredients until they reach the desired smoothness.
  • Enjoy!
